Maria holds an art degree from the University of Central Florida where she first sat down at a wheel nearly 14 years ago. Upon moving to Charlotte in 2007, she continued under the teaching of Celena Burnett at The Whirling Wheel studio for 3 years before setting up her own personal studio in her garage. While she may spend entirely too much time fussing over a detail, her forms tend to be simple in design. She values function in a piece, yet strives to create an opportunity for delight for the person using her pot.
Maria is also one of Pottery 51’s ceramics instructors. She enjoys spreading the love of clay to others through workshops and classes.
